Founder Lemonade Dave Justus
There is no secret as to why Guinness World Record Holder and inspirational speaker David Justus continues to make a difference. He doesn’t just share a philosophy but is an example to everyone he meets, and Justus has that optimism, if you will, that allows him to turn life’s lemons into lemonade.
Justus is a three-time cancer survivor. In 1986, after being told he had just six months left to live, he was the beneficiary of a spiritual healing. He uses this second chance on life to give back to others by constantly being engaged in a good cause.
On June 11, 2011, Justus led a community effort to raise awareness for children with cancer by setting the Guinness World Record for the longest lemonade stand, a lengthy 2,614’ 2” long. Thus, his affectionate name, “Lemonade Dave.”
In addition to being a highly sought-after speaker, Justus shares his expertise as a life and business coach. His secret philosophy, “Success is found in the key moments,” helps people discover the key moments every day that will allow them to be all that they can be. Since using this secret to set the world record in 2011, Justus, both as a speaker and a coach, has helped business owners, executives, salespeople, leadership teams, and college students discover more of their true potential.
One secret to his success is Justus’s love for learning. An avid reader, he averages 17 or more books a year, all non-fiction and all read to be the best person he can be. More importantly, he is always willing to share what he has learned to help others be all that they can be.
The author of five books, Justus covers topics from how to help when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer to using football principles to become a better parent to how to make a difference to better time management. Odds are he is working on his next book or course even as you read this.
Justus was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area in 1964; and, is the second oldest of seven children. He is happily married to his wife, Abby, is the father of two sons, and two stepchildren, and currently lives in New Jersey. He is a Naval Veteran, as well as a graduate of Brigham Young University, with a degree in Family Science and a minor in business management.
Justus has worked with Make-A-Wish, United Way, and other nonprofits. In 1997, he founded HERO, a support group for teens and young adults with cancer, and in 2009, The Northcoast Fatherhood Initiative. He has also worked for fortune 100 companies to small, locally-owned businesses.
